THE POST-STAR,

Store tobacco ads are tough to avoid

Editor:

I am extremely alarmed by the number of ads for tobacco products that I see inside and outside of local convenience stores. I have been noticing them more and more around not only Glens Falls, but other areas as well. I don't want my nieces or nephew to grow up smoking. When children see the advertisements they, of course, think that smoking is an okay thing to do. Several of these ads are placed at the eye level of children, and it is extremely hard for parents to keep their children away from tobacco when this is all they see. In my opinion this is becoming a serious issue, and I would like to see all tobacco ads eliminated inside and outside of stores.
